Are you an existing NOW broadband customer?

NOW Broadband customers can use this page to make the most of their broadband subscription and fix some of the most common problems to arise.

NOW broadband login

Your NOW online account lets you manage all of your NOW services in one place, whether that’s TV, broadband, or phone plans.

Through your online account, you can:

  • Manage payments and passes
  • Update your details
  • Cancel your subscription
  • Apply and redeem vouchers
  • Manage your devices
  • Add TV passes or broadband packages

All you need to set up a NOW account is your email address, which you’ll use as your NOW Broadband login details whenever you sign in.

Why can’t I access my account?

The most common reason people struggle to access their account is because they’re using the wrong NOW broadband login details. Your username will be the email address you signed up with and receive emails from NOW. Make sure you’re using the right username and password combination for your NOW Broadband login and there are no spelling mistakes. If you still can’t access your account, you can reset your password here.

Having trouble connecting

If you’re having problems with your NOW connection, the first thing to try is switching your router off and on again. You can do this either at the wall or using the power button on the back. Leave it off for about 30 seconds and restart it and this might fix the problem.

Struggling with your connection?

The most complained about issue when it comes to broadband is slow speeds and dropping connection. We can help you improve both of these if you give us a call today!

Another thing to try is disconnecting and reconnecting your device. It could be that you’re connected to the wrong connection or are using the wrong password. You should be able to find the right name and password somewhere on your router (unless you’ve changed it).

Finally, check to see if there are any known issues in the area. You can do this by checking your service status through your online account. You can also book an engineer to fix any faults there might be.

Check your service status

If it’s still no better, you can contact NOW using the live chat feature on their website or call 03330 323 050.

What if my speed is too low?

Your NOW Broadband hub comes with smart technology that automatically chooses the best WiFi channel to connect to. If you find that this channel is too slow, you can reset your router using the button on the back for 2 seconds. Your router will then look for the best channel again and should find a better one.

When you sign up for NOW Broadband, you’ll be given a minimum speed your broadband should reach. If it doesn’t reach this speed after your first 10 days with NOW broadband, you should contact NOW either through their live chat service or by calling 03330 323 050.

If they’re unable to improve your speed within 30 days, you’ll be able to cancel your package with no cancellation fees. This will apply to phone and TV services bought at the same time as your broadband too.

I want to cancel my NOW Broadband package

If you want to leave NOW Broadband, you might have to contact NOW to let them know you want to cancel.

If you’re switching to another provider, your new provider might be able to cancel your contract for you. However, if you’re switching to Virgin Media or another Full Fibre broadband package, you’ll have to contact NOW to let them know. You can do this by calling 03330 323 050 or emailing updatemyaccount@nowtv.com.

If you’ve ordered NOW Broadband and want to cancel before it goes live, you should get in touch as soon as possible to ensure the line doesn’t get switched over. You can do this through NOW’s live chat feature on their website or call 03330 323 050. If you can’t cancel in time, you’ll have 31 days to cancel before you have to pay early termination fees.

Cancellation fees

With NOW broadband packages, you can choose whether you want to enter a 12-month contract or set up a 30-day rolling contract. If you choose the 30-day rolling contract, you’ll have to pay a £60 activation fee, however, you won’t have to pay early cancellation fees if you decide to switch providers.

If you choose not to opt for the rolling contract, you might have to pay early cancellation fees if you switch before the end of your 12-month contract. If you switch after 12 months, you won’t have to pay the fees.

Your cancellation fee will vary depending on:

  • How much you pay
  • Your broadband package
  • How long is left on your contract
  • How much NOW save from you leaving early

It will be calculated by taking the monthly charge of your broadband plan and deducting the business costs NOW will save from you leaving early and a discount for paying in a lump sum.

For example, if you pay £25 per month for your broadband and have 3 months left on your contract, they will take this £25 and deduct £12.62 for business costs and discounts. This will bring you to £12.38, which will be multiplied by the number of months left on your contract (3) and rounded to the nearest 25p, bringing your cancellation fee to £37.25.

NOW Broadband reviews

When choosing broadband providers, it’s important to find out what to expect when you enter a contract with them. NOW has quite a mixed bag of reviews, however, it’s important to note that some of these scores are affected by reviews of their TV services.

Reviewer Score More information
Trustpilot 1.5 out of 5 | 9,908 reviews
Broadband.co.uk 2.9 out of 5 | 630 reviews
Faster Broadband 2 out of 5 | 77 reviews

Despite its low Trustpilot score, according to a 2020 survey taken by Broadband Genie, 70% of NOW Broadband customers would recommend their provider to their friends and family due to the good value for money and trustworthiness. This is also reflected in the positive NOW Broadband reviews on Trustpilot, where customers consistently praise the reliability of their broadband connection and high speeds.

However, some customers report that their connection regularly drops out and the customer service team is unhelpful. Other customers say that they have issues switching to and from NOW as they cancel switches without reason, despite still paying for the service.

NOW Broadband packages

NOW has 3 different broadband packages available: Brilliant Broadband which is an ADSL connection and Fab Fibre and Super Fibre, their two fibre options.

Brilliant Broadband Fab Fibre Super Fibre
Price £18 £23 £25
Download speed 11Mbps 36Mbps 63Mbps
Upload speed 1Mbps 9.5Mbps 19Mbps

No matter which package you choose, you can decide to enter a 12-month contract or pay an upfront fee of £60 for a 30-day rolling contract. This suits some customers if they don’t want to be locked into a long contract and want complete control over their broadband.

Switching

Once you’ve decided on NOW Broadband, it’s time to switch. The switching process is really easy – all you have to do is click the link below to choose your plan and check it’s available in your area.

Switch to NOW Broadband

If you’re with a non-cable provider such as BT and TalkTalk, you shouldn’t have to cancel your broadband package with them. NOW Broadband should be able to do it for you. However, if you’re with Virgin Media, you’ll have to cancel with them before you can switch to NOW.

If you have NOW TV, you can use this page to make the most of your subscription and improve your viewing experience.

Download the NOW TV app

There are a huge number of ways you can watch NOW TV, even without a set-top box.

You can watch and download all your favourite films and shows on any device both live and on-demand using the app. It’s available on over 60 different devices with the ability to register up to 6 devices, which can be managed through your NOW account.

To use the NOW TV app, you’ll have to have an active TV pass that matches what you’re trying to watch. Luckily, NOW TV subscriptions can be cancelled any time, so it’s easy to buy the relevant pass for what you want to watch without being stuck in a contract.

Why can’t I watch NOW TV?

If you’re struggling to watch NOW TV, whether that’s on the app or through your NOW TV box/stick there are a few things you can try to get it working again.

The most common thing it could be is that you haven’t bought the relevant pass. If you don’t have your pass set to auto-renew, it may have run out without you noticing. Check your account to compare what you have access to against which passes you have.

Alternatively, your device might not be compatible with the NOW TV app. It works on Android 5.0 or higher and iOS 11 or later. If you have a OnePlus 8 or 8T, you’ll also have to turn off the Vibrant Colour Display. If you’re watching from a different operating system, click here to find out if your device is compatible.

In October, white NOW TV boxes stopped working. According to NOW, this was because the white box isn’t powerful enough to support the modern apps and services, so customers will have to upgrade to a black or smart box. If you had a white box, you should have received an email letting you know and possibly even giving you a discount or voucher to put towards a replacement box.

Setting up your NOW TV box

The first step to watch your favourite programmes through your NOW TV box is to get it set up and connected to your TV. No matter which type of box you have, the set-up process is extremely easy.

Once you’re set up, you might need to give your box a few minutes to update any apps that need updating.

If you have the standard NOW box…

  1. Connect your box to the TV using the HDMI cable and switch the TV to the source/input you’ve plugged it into.
  2. Plug your box into the wall using the power cable and put 2 AAA batteries into your NOW TV remote. It should pair automatically.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your box to the WiFi network or plug it into the router using an ethernet cable.
  4. Using your phone or computer, follow the instructions on your TV screen to sign into or create an account.

If you have a Smart Box with Freeview…

  1. Connect your box to the TV using the HDMI cable and switch the TV to the source/input you’ve plugged it into.
  2. Connect your box to an aerial socket in the wall using a coaxial cable.
  3. Plug your box into the wall using the power cable and put 2 AAA batteries into your NOW TV remote. It should pair automatically.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your box to the WiFi network or plug it into the router using an ethernet cable.
  5. Using your phone or computer, follow the instructions on your TV screen to sign into or create an account.
  6. Using your TV remote, perform a channel scan to add free-to-air channels (this will only work if you’re connected to the aerial socket.

If you have a Smart Box with 4K and Voice Search…

  1. Connect your box to the TV using the HDMI cable and switch the TV to the source/input you’ve plugged your box into.
  2. Plug your box into the mains and put 2 AAA batteries into your NOW TV remote. It should pair automatically.
  3. Connect your box to the WiFi by following the on-screen instructions or plug it straight into the router using an ethernet cable.
  4. Press OK to detect the best resolution for your TV.
  5. Using your phone or computer, follow the instructions on your TV to sign in or create an account.

Setting up your NOW TV stick

If you’ve opted for a NOW TV stick instead of a box, it’s just as easy to get set up.

  1. Plug your stick into the HDMI port on your TV and use the power cable to plug it into the mains.
  2. Switch the TV to the source/input you’ve plugged your box into and put the batteries in your remote. It should pair automatically.
  3. Connect your stick to the WiFi using the on-screen instructions.
  4. Press OK to detect the best resolution for your TV.
  5. Using your phone or computer, follow the instructions on your TV to sign in or create an account.

Why is my remote not working?

The first thing to check if your remote isn’t working is the batteries. This is the most common reason that remotes stop working and you can’t always tell when they’re running low. You’ll need 2 charged AAA batteries to change them out.

If your remote isn’t working when you plug the NOW TV box in for the first time, it could be that it hasn’t paired automatically. If this has happened, you should hold the small button below the batteries for a few seconds. A screen will come up reading “NOW Remote pairing…”. When the green light in the battery compartment flashed, your remote has connected to the box.

You can also try resetting your NOW TV box. You can do this through your device’s advanced system settings or by holding down the button/hole on your box. Bear in mind that you’ll then have to set everything up again, including any apps you’ve downloaded, and you’ll have to sign in to all your apps again.

If neither of these has worked, you might need a new remote. All you need to do is contact NOW through their dedicated live chat where they can sort a new remote for you or give you other tips on how to fix it if applicable.

Are you considering upgrading to NOW TV?

Whether you’re thinking of adding a TV pass to your NOW Broadband package or planning on buying it separately, you can find out everything you need to know about signing up for the service here.

Why NOW TV?

NOW TV is a very attractive option for those who want to enjoy premium shows and films without having to enter a long contract. NOW TV passes are renewed on a monthly basis, which you can set automatically or manually and can be cancelled at any time with no cancellation fees.

There are passes to suit everyone, whether you love to binge-watch or catch up on your favourite shows, films, and sports, or want to watch premium channels live for less.

Which is better, a NOW TV stick or box?

There are 3 different ways you can watch NOW TV: through your smart TV and other devices, through a NOW TV box, and using a NOW TV Stick. However, in terms of what you can do on each device, the NOW TV box and stick are almost the same. The main difference between the two is the design and price.

Of course, the stick is a lot smaller than the box and much easier to hide as it doesn’t need as many wires to connect to the TV. This is great if you have a wall-mounted TV or just want wires out of sight.

The box is much pricier than the stick too, with prices for a NOW TV stick currently at around £25-30 depending on the retailer and the Smart box with 4K and Voice Control selling for up to £100.

Reviews

Because NOW offers a number of different services, this has an effect on its overall review scores. However, with TV as its main service, these may be more reliable than their broadband and mobile reviews.

Reviewer Score More information
Trustpilot 1.5 out of 5 | 9,908 reviews
Tech Radar 4 out of 5
Reviews.io 2.3 out of 5 | 32 reviews

Many of the positive reviews mention the high quality of the service and great value for money. Customers also like the fact you have the choice of Sky channels without needing to sign up for a long contract. Sports fans are also glad you can buy day passes for the sports channels so they don’t have to spend too much if they only want it for one game.

On the flip side, a lot of customers complain about buffering and slow load times. While this could be due to their internet connection, it could also be something to do with the NOW TV app with so many people having the same issue.

TV passes

NOW TV offers a range of different premium channels for you to pick and choose from, depending on what you like to watch.

Pass Price per month
Entertainment £9.99
Cinema £9.99
Sports £33.99 (£9.99 for a day pass)
Hayu £4.99

These passes are on monthly rolling contracts so you can cancel any time without any extra fees if the package isn’t for you. Bear in mind that you’ll have to buy and cancel each pass separately and you might not be billed for each pass on the same day.
