Many packages promise fixed prices throughout the length of many contracts and any out-of-contract prices will be in line with the rate of inflation.

TalkTalk broadband login
The TalkTalk online account is designed for customers to be able to take control of their broadband quickly and easily, wherever they are.
Through your online account, you can:
- Manage your TV and broadband services
- Manage your payments
- View your usage
- View and download bills
- Keep track of your orders
- Move house
- Renew your contract
All you need to register is your account number (which you can find on any letter or email from TalkTalk) and a few details about yourself.
Why can’t I access my account?
The most common reason people can’t access their online account is that they’re using the wrong details. The first thing you should check is that your email address and password are right and that there are no spelling mistakes. You can reset your password using the link below.
If you’ve forgotten your email address, you can use the same link and click ‘Forgotten email address?’. You’ll need to enter your name, date of birth, postcode, and mobile number. You’ll then receive a text containing the email address you use for your online account.
If this hasn’t helped you access your account, you can call TalkTalk on 0345 172 0088.
Having trouble connecting?
Having broadband connection issues can be annoying for anyone, especially when you’re in the middle of something important. Luckily, there are a few easy fixes that could help solve the problem.
Struggling with your connection?
The most complained about issue when it comes to broadband is slow speeds and dropping connection. We can help you improve both of these if you give us a call today!
The first thing to try is turning your router off and on again. This is a common way to fix any tech problem, but try not to do this too often. If you do, this could be flagged as a problem on TalkTalk’s side and their system will slow your broadband down to help stabilise it.
Make sure that your router is plugged into the main phone socket rather than an extension socket. The wiring in the extension sockets isn’t built for transmitting broadband signals so won’t work effectively.
Then, check your devices. If there are a lot of devices connected and using the internet at once, this could reach your maximum bandwidth level. This is where speed and connection are distributed between devices, meaning that the more devices there are, the slower it will be. Try switching disconnecting any devices that aren’t using the internet.
You can also run a health check to see what the problem is and find other ways to fix it. This will run a few tests to check your internet connection and see if the problem is between your home and the TalkTalk broadband network or there’s something else to try.
What if my speed is too low?
If your broadband is running slower than it should be, the first thing you should do is run a speed test. This will test your upload and download speeds to see the average speed of your broadband at the time.
Your speeds might fluctuate in the first 14 days of being with TalkTalk, so having slower broadband during this time is normal while you get set up. Your speed should stabilise at your estimated speed after this period.
If you’re not reaching your estimated speeds after 14 days, you can contact TalkTalk through their live chat feature or by calling 0345 172 0088. They can help work out what’s wrong, how to fix the problem, and send an engineer out if they need to.
If you’re not happy with the speed or connection of your TalkTalk fibre broadband in the first 30 days, you can cancel your contract without any extra fees. You’ll still have to pay for any services you’ve used.
I want to cancel my TalkTalk broadband package
The best way to cancel your broadband package is by calling TalkTalk on 0345 172 0046. They’ll walk you through your options and discuss how to proceed with cancelling your contract.
Alternatively, you can contact Utility Switchboard on 020 3049 5898 or contact your new broadband provider directly. Your new provider will make TalkTalk aware of the switch, however, you might still have to contact TalkTalk to make sure your account is closed correctly.
Bear in mind that you’ll have to send back any equipment TalkTalk have sent, including your router, within 42 days of cancelling your package or you may be charged.
If you’re trying to cancel your broadband package, you might be subject to early termination fees. This is an added charge you have to pay if you cancel before your contract is up.
How much you have to pay varies depending on which package you’re on and how long is left on your current contract. The table below shows how much you’ll be charged per month:
|Broadband type||Charge per month|
|Fast Broadband (ADSL)||£10.80|
|Ultra fibre-optic broadband||£19.20|
For example, if you’re currently on a Fibre 35 package with 5 months left on your contract, your cancellation fee would be £10.20 x 5 = £51.
You can cancel your broadband package with no early cancellation fees if you’re:
- In the first 20 days of your order date
- Not happy with your fibre speeds and connection in your first 30 days of going live
Are you considering switching to TalkTalk Broadband?
If you’re thinking of switching to TalkTalk broadband, there are a few things you might want to take into consideration before you sign up. The sections below will help decide if TalkTalk is the broadband provider for you.
TalkTalk broadband reviews
Comparing reviews is an important part of the switching process. It’s worth bearing in mind that TalkTalk offers multiple services, which will affect the overall review scores.
|Trustpilot||2.4 out of 5 | 59,513 reviews|
|Broadband.co.uk||2.8 out of 5 | 4,336 reviews|
|ISP Review||2 out of 5 | 206 reviews|
Customers love the low prices that TalkTalk offer, especially as they’re fixed throughout the duration of your contract. Despite this, many customers have seen an increase in their fixed payments mid-contract. When this happened, customers were free to leave if they weren’t happy with the changes, however, many stayed as the prices remain competitive.
Multiple customers mention connection and speed in their negative reviews. While some are able to get these problems solved quickly and effectively, others are waiting for much longer with no improvement.
TalkTalk broadband packages
TalkTalk has a range of different broadband packages available for customers with different needs. Fast Broadband is their only ADSL package available, however, there are multiple fibre options to choose from.
|Broadband package||Price per month||Upload speed||Download speed|
|Fibre 150 Ultrafast||£29.95||25Mbps||145Mbps|
|Fibre 500 Ultrafast||£35||250Mbps||506Mbps|
TalkTalk is also starting to roll out Full Fibre broadband plans to eligible customers with average download speeds of 900Mbps for just £36 per month.
It’s estimated that a loss of broadband connection could cost a business over £900 per hour so it’s important that homeworkers have a strong broadband connection and high enough speeds. TalkTalk has a broadband plan specifically designed for those who work from home to keep business running smoothly.
Priced at £26.95 per month, you could see average download speeds of 67Mbps per line, meaning that whatever your family is doing on your personal broadband line, your work broadband line won’t be affected. You’ll be able to work just as effectively from home as you would in an office without worrying about your broadband cutting out.
The Homeworker broadband includes:
- Faster upload speeds
- Download speeds to handle over 15 devices per line
- A second broadband line
- Business-grade support
- Up to 2 WiFi extenders
- Expert installation
